Beauty and the Beast will knock King Kong and Logan off their thrones to be number one this weekend!

Beauty and the Beast is finally here! Disney’s remake of the beloved 1991 classic will undoubtedly be 2017’s biggest opening yet. It will not only appease family audiences, but will cater to an older demographic who love the original. Showing in 3-D and IMAX, the live-action musical will be a major success. Expect Kong: Skull Island, Logan, and Get Out to continue their success in slots two, three, and four. Take a look at this weekend’s box office prediction, be our guest:

1st place will be: Beauty and the Beast, heard of it yet? Disney’s remake has already sold out theaters across the country for showings on Thursday night. The live-action musical features Emma Watson (Harry Potter) as Belle and Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as the Beast. Featuring the original songs and new music, the epic fairy tale will play in 3-D and IMAX, appeasing a wide demographic of fans old and new for this tale as old as time. Bonjour!

2nd place will be: Kong: Skull Island. Last weekend King Kong climbed his way to the top, exceeding studio expectations. The action packed thriller stars Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston as scientists who come across the mythic King ape in a deserted land.




3rd place will be: Logan. The Wolverine film has the highest debut of 2017 so far, but that will change this weekend. The violent R-rated chapter marks Hugh Jackman’s last time playing the iconic superhero. This time around, Logan is a limo driver in the future taking care of a dying Professor X and raising a little girl with similar wolverine super powers.

4th place will be: Get Out. The horror hit written and directed by Jordan Peele (Key & Peele) is the much talked about thriller about modern day racism. The film follows an interracial couple Rose (Allison Williams) and Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) who go home to meet her white parents. Strangely enough, Chris learns that many of the black people who to the town mysteriously disappear, and her parents seem to be able to do some hypnotherapy tricks.

5th place will be: The Shack. Based off the New York Times bestselling novel by William P. Young, the Christian story follows a man (Sam Worthington) who mourns the loss of his daughter. He comes across a mysterious shack led by a woman (Octavia Spencer) and he learns how to understand his tragedy and change his life. Tim McGraw and Radha Mitchell costar in the family drama.

Rounding out the top ten will be: 6th place: The Belko Experiment (Tony Goldwyn), 7th place: The LEGO Batman Movie, 8th place: Hidden Figures (Taraji P. Henson), 9th place: Before I Fall (Zoey Deutch), and 10th place: John Wick: Chapter 2 (Keanu Reeves).
