For months there has been a lot of talk about Daniel Craig not being the next James Bond. The reason behind this is, Mr. 007 himself said after the release of “Spectre”, that he would rather slash his wrists than play this part again. After this announcement speculations where that Tom Hiddleston, Aidan Turner, Charlie Hunnam, Luke Evans, Michael Fassbender, Damien Lewis and Idris Elba are all in line to become the next Bond (as we reported back at the beginning of September). However the wheel has turned once again, then those who are in charge of the franchise aren’t looking at any of the lined up actors. They want Daniel Craig back and that’s pretty much the end of the discussion.

Executive Producer Cullum McDougall was speaking with UK’s BBC Radio 4 today, saying: “We love Daniel. Without any question he is absolutely the first choice of Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli’s – which are chief producers of the franchise. They want him back and they are hoping for him to return.”

With that being said, it’s pretty clear that the final NO from Mr. Craig has not fallen yet, otherwise they wouldn’t be saying that he is their first choice. It also looks like he hasn’t given them a green light either, otherwise they would share the great news with the whole world. Rumors where going around, that MGM has offered Daniel a large sum to have him play James Bond twice more, also this is not confirmed. It does appear, that money is the subject tho and that is why their is no Yes or No on the table as of yet.

Daniel starred as the super spy in Casino Royal, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre. Do you want him to return as Mr. 007?
