“At the end of the day I have to sit in the sauna for an hour” – Dave Bautista on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to 2014’s smash hit. The first Guardians of the Galaxy took the Marvel world by storm, with classic 80’s nostalgia and camp comedy, the film grossed $773 million worldwide. The second installment picks up where the last one left off, and of course, it is set to an all new retro inspired mix tape.

The series follows a group of intergalactic criminals who work together to take down the bad guys in the galaxy. Dave Bautista plays Drax, the powerful hero who can blast energy straight from his hands. With intense makeup and costume, Bautista embodies the character, just as it was created on page in the comic books.

Drag the “Destroyer” swore vengeance on Thanos at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy. His wife and daughter were murdered by the evil villain, and it is still unknown whether or not Drax will exact his revenge in Vol. 2. To play Drax, Bautista has to wear intense makeup. “At the end of the day I have to sit in the sauna for an hour”, Buatista said.

Dave Bautista has a busy couple years ahead of him. In addition to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, he is also starring in Blade Runner 2049, Hotel Artemis, Escape Plan 2: Hades, and Avengers: Infinity War. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will also feature returning cast members and new characters alike portrayed by Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Rooker, and Chris Pratt.
