Interview: Leonardo DiCaprio “The Revenant”
1823 – Trapper Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) moves with his son Hawk and a group of fur trappers through the still largely unexplored wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. He is attacked by a grizzly bear and seriously wounded, the ruthless John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) kills his son and leaves him helpless to die. But Glass driven by revenge survives and is struggling in the icy mountains and the endless perils to retaliate.
After more than 20 years in front of the camera, Leonardo DiCaprio finally takes home the coveted golden boy – the Oscar – for 2016 “Best Actor” in the movie “The Revenant”. Our reporter Rachel Kasuch met the actor for an interview in Los Angeles and spoke with him about the extreme conditions during the shooting and the role of a lifetime.
