2010 was the last film with Jack Nicholson, is he retired

Jack Nicholson: Hollywood icon, powerhouse actor, legend. With so many credits to his name, a signature style, and three Oscars, Jack Nicholson is one of Hollywood’s true heavyweights. A 60 year career that includes “The Shining”, “Batman”, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, “Chinatown”, “As Good as it Gets”, “The Departed”, and the list goes on. It’s hard to imagine cinema without Jack. Lately, there has been much speculation whether Nicholson is officially retired or not.

Nicholson’s last film credits were in 2010, one in rom-com “How Do You Know” opposite Reese Witherspoon, and one in mockumentary “I’m Still Here” where he played himself in a small cameo. He is 79 years old now, and there have been no films since 2010, and no projects in the works.

Nicholson turned down a couple of big roles including: 2014’s The Judge, which ended up going to Robert Duvall, landing him an Oscar nomination, and in 2010 Nicholson was to reunite with Tom Cruise (A Few Good Men) for El Presidente but it never got the green light.

Back in 2013, many rumors floated around that Nicholson was suffering from memory loss but his representatives have said that is false.

Peter Fonda, Nicholson’s good friend who starred with him in Easy Rider, said, “”I think he is basically retired. I don’t want to speak for him but he has done a lot of work and he has done very well as a person financially. Sometimes people have a reason that you don’t know, and it’s not for me to ask. I don’t call him up and say, ‘Johnny,’ I call him Johnny Hop, ’What are you doing?’ I would say, ‘How are you, how do you feel?'”

Do you think Jack Nicholson is retired? One can only hope there is a future golden role he will take on to make a big Hollywood comeback!
