“I get really nervous with sequels, I feel like they need to be better than the first… this is the perfect sequel to the first.” – Zoe Saldana on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the highly anticipated sequel to 2014’s smash hit, picks up where the first one left off. Guardians of the Galaxy took the Marvel world by storm, with classic 80’s nostalgia and camp comedy, grossing over $773 million worldwide. For volume 2, there is a larger cast, more nostalgia, and an entirely new retro mixtape.
Guardians of the Galaxy follows a group of intergalactic criminals who work together to take down evil bad guys in a far out galaxy. Zoe Saldana plays Gamora, a beautiful green faced alien who is the last of her species. A daughter of Thanos, Gamora’s super powers include healing and superhuman strength and agility.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the team are tasked by Ayesha to defend batteries from the Abilisk, a monster, in exchange for Gamora’s sister Nebula who has been captured by the Sovereign.
Zoe Saldana has eight films coming out in the near future, including Hummingbird, My Little Pony, and Avengers: Infinity War. She will also reprise her iconic role as Neytiri in Avatar 2, 3, and 4, all written and directed by original creator James Cameron.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will also feature returning cast members and new characters alike portrayed by Zoe Saldana, Vin diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Rooker, and Chris Pratt.
