The Darkest Minds follows a group of adolescents living in a dystopian world. Adults rule the world and fear everyone under the age of 18, so all children and teens are imprisoned. Ruby (Amandla Stenberg) joins a group of teens to form a resistance, fighting against the adult world and reclaiming control of their future. The film is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda). The Darkest Minds features a stellar cast including Mandy Moore (This Is Us), Bradley Whitford (Transparent), Gwendolyn Christie (The Last Jedi), and Harris Dickinson (Beach Rats).

Amandla Stenberg broke out in the 2012 dystopian hit The Hunger Games starring as Rue. After starring in the hit show Mr. Robinson as Halle Foster, she will also be starring in future projects coming out later this year. She will star as Starr Carter in The Hate U Give with Anthony Mackie, and Where Hands Touch with Abbie Cornish.  
Film Inside’s reporter Rachel Kasuch sat down with Amandla Stenberg to discuss the making of The Darkest Minds.
