“I dreamed of being part of Hollywood movies… and when the audience sees it feeling like Oh I was a part of that, and that’s something I dreamed of.” – John Boyega

John Boyega stars as Jake Pentecost in the action packed thriller Pacific Rim Uprising. The sequel follows 2013’s hit Pacific Rim, which was written and created by recent Oscar winning director Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water). John Boyega leads a top notch cast for the anticipated sequel monster movie Pacific Rim Uprising created by Guillermo Del Toro.

Pacific Rim starred Idris Elba (The Mountain Between Us) as action hero Stacker Pentecost battling monstrous sea creatures in order to save the world from the apocalypse. Pacific Rim Uprising will follow Stacker’s son Jake, played by John Boyega (Star Wars: The Last Jedi). Pentecost reunites with Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) to lead a new team of fighter pilots to take down a Kaiju threat. The film is directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil, Smallville). The film also stars Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeney, Burn Goreman, and Charlie Day.

John Boyega broke out as an actor playing the beloved action hero Finn in the iconic hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, a film that quickly became the number one grossing film of all time. He also starred in last years hits The Last Jedi, Detroit, and The Circle with Tom Hanks and Emma Watson. He will reprise his role as Finn in 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX, and will star in the upcoming film Watership Down.
