Rogue One will be released December 16 and fans are trying to get any hints they can from the cast and crew, if they suspect any from the trailers. They didn’t have to ask this time when director Gareth Edwards dropped the fact that there is an Easter Egg in the film. He reveals that there are drawings on walls that relate to Edwards’ previous works, Monsters and Godzilla, and that the crew did it as a joke. While it’s not known when it will come, or if it will be easily identifiable, but it will be an interesting scavenger hunt when you watch the movie.

It’s not the first time such things have been tied up within a major movie. R2-D2 and C-3PO snuck in Raiders Of The Lost Ark (both stories written by George Lucas). R2-D2 also was thrown in Star Trek and Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. In the original Tron, they put in Pac-Man, which was a massive hit (like Pokemon) in the early 80s. In Disney’s Pixar movies, they have always snuck in different references from other movies they have made. There is always an ode to another movie in big films and sometimes it’s just never caught. The most famous Easter Egg was the director Alfred Hitchcock making a cameo in every movie he did. It’s always fun to find Hitch on the screen.

Starring Felicty Jones, Diego Luna, Forrest Whitaker, and Ben Mendelsohn, Rogue One is about resistance fighters who plan a covert operation to invade the Death Star, set between Episodes 3 and 4. So, get ready for another adventure…and keep your eyes peeled for discreetly drawn monsters.
